<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which surely detects a surface defect without being affected by a rust preventive oil and conducts marking. SOLUTION: A laser beam, etc., is projected on a thin steel sheet 1 by a light projector 4. The light reflected on the thin steel sheet 1 surface is received by a light receiver 5, defect detection is done by a data processing unit 6. A controller 7 collects the information on a kind and degree of the defect as well as positions in the width and longitudinal direction, etc., these are sent to a host computer 15 as the information pertinent to a coil of the thin steel sheet 1. The host computer 15 sends these information to a controller to control a recoil line. In the recoil line, as the position of a defect approaches an inspection base, an line speed is automatically decelerated. Further, when the operator conducts it inputting with visually checking existence of a surface defect, defect marking is done to a corresponding position.</p> |
