PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-pressing mold for the molding of a molded pulp article dryable in a short time and free from the danger of steam explosion and provide a process for the production of a molded pulp article. SOLUTION: A wet molded article produced by dehydrating a pulp slurry is hot-pressed with a pair of hot-pressing molds to obtain a molded pulp article. Each of the hot-pressing molds has an oppositely facing flat part and the distribution density of through-holes formed at least one of the flat part is higher than the distribution density of through-holes formed at the rising part of the mold.
