PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing chlorosulfonyl isocyanate from a sulfur trioxide and cyanogen chloride in good operability and in high yield. SOLUTION: This method comprises feeding cyanogen chloride to a mixture of a sulfur trioxide and chlorosulfonyl isocyanate at -10 to 17 deg.C to produce the aimed chlorosulfonyl isocyanate; wherein the sulfur trioxide to be used may be any one provided that it is liquid, preferablyγ-modified one.
