PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic thread fastener capable of reducing thread fastening failures. SOLUTION: An automatic thread fastener is provided with a driver bit 11 having a tip shape to be engaged with the head of a screw such as hexagon socket head cap screw or a cross recessed screw, rotated by receiving the driving of a motor and reciprocated by receiving the driving of an air cylinder, and chuck claws 21 and 21 disposed on the moving route of the driver bit 11 by being always pressed and capable of temporarily holding screws fed from a feeding unit. The chuck claws 21 and 21 are operated to be closed, opened or slightly opened for preventing screw falling-off by an opening/closing means 30.
