PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a rotating means by effecting the efficient pressing according to the pressing condition of a work to be pressed. SOLUTION: In pressing a work W in cooperation with a punch P and a die D by blowing the punch P by a vertically movable ram 21 by a crank shaft to be rotated by a servo motor 37, the drive pattern comprising the optimum time constant and rotational speed of the servo motor 37 is calculated by an arithmetic unit based on the pressing condition. The servo motor 37 is driven by a control device 19 based on the calculated drive pattern to automatically effect the pressing under the optimum pressing condition. The servo motor 37 is driven according to the load during the pressing without breaking an amplifier or the servo motor 37, and the pressing can be efficiently effected in the shortest pressing time.
