PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid compressor which can eliminate application of offset load to a rotation shaft of a compressing portion, restrain abrasion of a bearing, and prevent backlash of the rotation shaft caused by the abrasion to restrain noise, without increasing the outer diameter of an electromagnetic clutch. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic clutch 2 for transmitting or shielding power of an engine 3 to a rotation shaft 16A is provided on the front side of a compressing portion 1, and an electric motor 4 is connected with the rear side of the compressing portion 1. An output shaft 16B of the electric motor 4 is connected with a rear side end of the rotation shaft 16A of the compressing portion 1 integrally and in series. Turning on of the electromagnetic clutch 2 drives the compressing portion 1 using the power from the engine 3, and rotates a rotor 43 of the electric motor 4 to charge a battery. Turning off of the electromagnetic clutch 2 to supply electric power from the battery 5 to the electric motor 4 rotates the electric motor 4 and then the rotation shaft 16A of the compressing portion 1.
