PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lining paper for a flexible decorative sheet generating little curl after hot-pressing by impregnating a composition composed mainly of a thermoplastic resin in a base paper composed mainly of natural pulp and having a fine fiber content smaller than a specific level. SOLUTION: A base paper composed mainly of natural pulp and containing <=3% of fine fiber having a fiber length of <=0.2 mm is impregnated with a composition composed mainly of a thermoplastic resin such as styrene-butadiene copolymer latex to obtain the objective paper for the lining of a flexible decorative sheet.
