PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet type recording head and an ink-jet type recording apparatus in which a discharge efficiency is improved by suppressing a durability decrease of a diaphragm and increasing an amount of elastic deformation of the diaphragm. SOLUTION: In the ink-jet type recording head having a passage formation substrate 10 where pressure generation chambers 12 communicating with nozzle openings are partitioned and piezoelectric elements set to one face of the passage formation substrate 10 for generating a pressure change to the pressure generation chambers 12, a first piezoelectric element 300 is arranged at an area confronting the pressure generation chamber, and second piezoelectric elements 310 are arranged at least at both sides in a breadthwise direction of the first piezoelectric element. The second piezoelectric elements 310 coupling side walls at both sides in a breadthwise direction of the pressure generation chamber 12 with the first piezoelectric element 300 are shrinkable, so that a deformation amount of a diaphragm is improved.
