PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary base device applicable even in the case where a sufficient space for disposing a rotation drive source, a transmission device, etc., is not available on the fixed part side. SOLUTION: This rotary base device is provided with a rotary base 17 rotatably supported on a fixed part 41, a rotation drive means provided on the side of the rotary base 17, and power transmission means 51, 45 to provide torque to the rotary base 17 based on the fixed part 41 by transmitting driving force of the rotation drive means to the fixed part 41. As this rotation drive means, a liear motion actuator 18 to drive a drive gear element as the power transmission means 51 is provided.
