PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backrest part mechanism capable of supporting the upper half of the body over much wider areas by deforming a backrest member corresponding to physique with body pressure caused by leaning. SOLUTION: This mechanism is composed of a seat surface, backrest member 1 and struts 2 which can be rotated with two axes as a center and protrudes a backrest member holding part 8 outside the axes. In this case, the backrest member 1 is held while being unfastened by two struts 2 raised on the left and right sides of the seat surface, the struts 2 are held with the seat surface rotatably around the axes and by rotating the strut axes simultaneously with the backward move of the backrest member 1 while letting a user lean against the backrest member 1, the upper half of the body can be supported over much wider areas for the state of the user.
