PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an umbrella from falling down when it is housed in a wound-up condition by arranging an intermediate supporting plate below an upper plate in an umbrella stand and boring insertion holes with a dimension prohibiting passage of a tip of a folded foldable umbrella and allowing passage of a non-foldable type umbrella in the intermediate supporting plate. SOLUTION: An umbrella stand is constructed of four supporting columns 10, an upper plate 12, a bottom plate 14, and an intermediate supporting plate 16. The umbrella stand can be folded down into a plane shape as the four supporting columns 10 are connected to the upper plate 12, the bottom plate 14 and the intermediate plate 16 via pins 18. On the surface of the upper plate 12, a plurality of umbrella insertion holes 20 are bored, and the diameter of the insertion hole 20 is set to be a slightly larger one for facilitating insertion of an umbrella. A plurality of insertion holes 22 are formed in the intermediate supporting plate 16 so as to be provided with a diameter prohibiting passage of the tip part of a foldable umbrella and allowing passage of a non-foldable type umbrella. In this way, any kind of umbrella such as a non-foldable type long umbrella and a double/triple foldable umbrella can be stably stored in a wound-up condition without respect to its sort.
