Screening process for identifying catalytic activity using chromogenic and fluorogenic compounds

摘要

A process for producing a detectable marker from a precursor compound is provided. The precursor compound contains an electron donor group, a bi- or tri-cyclic component and a ketone-forming group or heteroatom-releasing group attached to the ring component. Novel precursors are also provided. The process and compounds have use in screening for catalytic activity.
