<p>Transversal extension of the guiding edge of the strip of papier-mache is gripped by a wedge which fits into an envelope. The latter is preferably perforated and made of a non-corrosive material, e.g. a soft metal or synthetic plastics. A cord is attached to the envelope-wedge assembly to pull the strip into the drier. Before entering the drier, the edge of the strip is trimmed by a water jet. Uniform tension is applied to the guiding edge of the strip, avoiding breakage and resulting delays.</p> |
