SOCKET MECHANISM FOR ACCESSORIES

A socket mechanism is provided which is uniquely configured to interconnect an accessory such as a toy element to a child care device such as strollers, stationary activity centers, walkers, high chairs, and the like. The socket mechanism includes a fastener mechanism which couples with a retention mechanism disposed on the child care device. The accessory is then attached to the fastener mechanism thereby securing the accessory to the child care device or integrally formed therewith. As such, the caregiver utilizing this invention may releasably connect an accessory to the surface of a child care device thereby allowing the infant access to the accessory while reducing the opportunity for the accessory to become lost, mislaid or discarded by the infant.
