PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high-quality heat developing processing without causing not only wrinkles but also density irregularity of a heat developing photosensitive material. SOLUTION: At a heat developing part 14, heater boxes 20 and 22 heated by a plane heater 28 are arranged up and down between a pair of insertion rollers 16 and a pair of ejection rollers 18 as one pair. When the heat developing photosensitive material 12 is fed between the boxes 20 and 22 by a pair of insertion rollers 16 by making the photosensitive layer thereof face upward, it is guided to the guide plate 24 of the lower heater box and carried so that an air layer is always formed between the upper heater box. Thus, since the heat developing photosensitive material is uniformly heated without pressing the photosensitive layer, the wrinkles and the density irregularity are not caused.
