PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent communication quality by correcting delay time generated after a base station transmits radio wave signals until a mobile telephone set receives the radio wave signals to specified value times further when the mobile telephone set is used in a city where high buildings are clustered. SOLUTION: When the mobile telephone set 2 receives the radio wave signals transferred from the base station 1, the mobile telephone set 2 judges whether it is set to a city mode or a suburb mode and refers to respective radio wave propagation delay correction values registered in an EEPROM depending on whether it is set in the city mode or the suburb mode. The mobile telephone set 2 corrects the delay time between the base station 1 and the mobile telephone set 2 by quickening the timing of performing transmission to the base station 1 based on such a radio wave propagation delay correction value. When the mobile telephone set 2 is used in the city where the buildings 3 are clustered, the delay time is corrected so as to prolong delay time further for about 1.5 times.
