摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oscillator having a good workability and superior machining accuracy by rotating a grindstone or work after grinding it, using a recessed rotary grindstone, thereby grinding it again to form protrudent steps and forming detecting electrodes at the periphery. SOLUTION: A recessed rotary grindstone 1 has a recess 1' in the rotation axial direction of the grindstone and grinds both sides of a piezoelectric plate 2, with leaving desired width approximately at the center of the plate 2, the piezoelectric plate 2 is fixed to a rotatable turntable 3, and the periphery of the piezoelectric plate 2 is machined into a shape conforming the recess 1', with leaving a protrudent part after machining. The turntable 3 is rotated by an arbitrary angle, the machining is made to leave a quadrilateral step 5, using the same recessed rotary grindstone 1. Thus a high-accuracy machining is enabled by combining the recessed rotary grindstone 1 with the turntable 3. Electrodes are formed at the step 5 and around it to complete an energy confining oscillator for piezoelectric oscillation gyros.
