PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform confidential communication without limiting the machine type of a party and to eliminate the need for confirming a confidential BOX number of call incoming side on the side of call origination. SOLUTION: This facsimile equipment is composed of a control part 101 for controlling the entire system, a storage part 102 for storing a caller telephone number based on a received confidential document and caller telephone number notice and a MODEM part 103 for transmitting/receiving data. The MODEM part receives the caller telephone number sent while being added from a telephone exchange network. The control part stores the received caller telephone number is the storage part and in the case the following FAX call is received, this caller telephone number is compared with a caller telephone number previously registered in a confidential BOX as the object of confidential communication and when they are coincident, a FAX document is stored in the confidential box registered in the correspondent storage part. Further, a recording medium 104 is provided for recording a processing program.
