<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an superior hydrogen storage alloy which is long in cycle life, very high in reactivity in an alkaline solution and used for an alkaline battery. SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage alloy used for the negative electrode of an alkaline battery is disclosed. The composition of this alloy is shown by the expression ABxMy where A is selected from a rare-earth element La or misch metal, B is selected from among a group of Ni, Fe, Mn, Cr, Cu, Co and a mixture of these, M is selected from among a group of Al, In, Zn, Sn, Ga, Si, Ge, Bi and a mixture of these, and x and y are selected in the respective ranges of 4.5<=x<=5.5 and 0.3<y<=0.6.</p> |
