PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for a cassette tape capable of inspecting by holding a flange of a reel in parallel in the cassette even though the self weight of the cassette tape is heavy. SOLUTION: This inspection device 10a for the cassette tape is constituted so as to be capable of inspecting the connecting state of a splicing tape Tb by photographing it with a video camera 22 in such a manner that a pair of reels 3, 4 wound round with a magnetic tape T which is connected to a leader tape with the splicing tape Tb, is housed in the cassette 2 and the cassette tape 1 pressurized to the side of a rear plate 2B by a leaf spring mounted inside the surface plate 2A of the cassette 2 is placed on a cassette holding substrate 21 by making the top and bottom to be opposite, and a sucking flange 50 mounted on the lower end part of a take-up shaft 40 is inserted to a hole of rotary shaft 3D of the reel of the side unwound with the magnetic tape to rotate a hub 3A of the reel 3 while sucking it by the sucking flange 50, then the splicing tape being put near to the side of the reel wound round with the magnetic tape is brought to the specific position on an opening part of the cassette.
