PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the communication system that is easily installed and where a specific cordless telephone slave set receives an incoming call selectively. SOLUTION: A center 2 makes a call to a meter 9 through a telephone line 5 through a caller telephone number notice (step 201). Thus, a telephone number of the center 2 is transmitted. A number display adaptor 7 with a radio device formed by incorporating the radio function to the number display adaptor selects a cordless telephone slave set 8-1 for a specific meter 9 to call it (step 202). The cordless telephone slave set 8-1 transmits connection to the center 2 via the number display adaptor 7 with a radio device (step 203). When the center 2 receives the connection, the center 2 sends a text to the cordless telephone slave set 8-1 via the number display adaptor 7 with the radio device (step 204) to conduct communication.
