摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the detection quality of magneto-optical signals and to reduce the cost of an optical pickup which is provided with a light source, a lens system that converges the emitted light beams from the light source onto an optical recording medium, a means that separates the signal light beams emitted from the medium from the optical path between the light source and the lens system and elements that receive the separated signal light beams. SOLUTION: An integrated composite element 2 provided with a function to converges the signal light beams from a means that separates the signal light beams emitted from an optical recording medium 88, a function to divide the signal light beams and a function to conduct a polarization separation, is arranged. The signal light beams are divided in the direction perpendicular to the track direction of the medium 88 by the dividing function viewing from the projecting surface to which the reflected light beams from the medium 88 are made incident on the element 2. The signal light beams exited from the element 2 are separated into plural signal light beams by the polarization separating function. Finally, the separated signal light beams are converged on the surfaces of plural signal detection light receiving element 83 by the light converging function.
