METHOD FOR DETECTING ANGLE OF ROTATION USING ROTARY TRANSFORMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting angle of rotation using rotary transformer by which the manufacturing cost or mounting cost of an angle-of- rotation detector or a rotary transformer can be reduced by reducing the occupying space of the detector or transformer and, in addition, the inspection cost of apparatuses can be reduced. SOLUTION: A method for detecting angle of rotation uses a rotary transformer 1 in which stator- and rotor-side cores 2 and 3 respectively having coils 2d and 2e and 3d and 3e and cores 2a and 3a made of a magnetic material and attached to a rotary member and a fixed member are faced oppositely to each other and electric power or electrical signals are electrically transmits between the cores 2 and 3 in a non-contacting state. Of the stator- and rotor-side cores 2 and 3, the core arranged on the rotary member side or a member provided to the core is provided with a plurality of detecting sections 3f for detecting angle of rotation and the angle of rotation of the rotary member is detected by electromagnetically or optically detecting the detecting sections 3f.
