PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the vehicle navigation device which notifies a driver that there is a place where a temporary stop needs to be made ahead in the route direction in such a case. SOLUTION: A navigation ECU(Electronical Control Unit) after extracting temporary stop place data stored in a map data base finds the distance between the current position of the vehicle and a temporary stop point closest to the current position and judges whether or not the found distance is 300 m (Sa4). When it is judged that the distance is less than 300 m, a temporary stop previous notice or speed reduction alarm is generated according to the current vehicle speed of the vehicle and the reduced speed when a last temporary stop point is passed. When the distance between the current position of the vehicle and the temporary stop point closest to the current position decreases below 5 m, a right-left confirmation guidance is given. |
