PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material testing machine capable of highly precise load calibration in the case of implementing load calibration using a weight. SOLUTION: A weight is set at a material testing machine, and standard gravitational acceleration gm is inputted to the material testing machine (S1). The gravitation value engraved on the weight is inputted to the material testing machine, and the gravitational acceleration g1 of the location at which the material testing machine is installed is inputted to the material testing machine (S3). The material testing machine measures gravitation due to the weight by a load cell. Load calibration by weights is performed from the inputted standard gravitational acceleration gm1, the inputted gravitation value engraved on the weight, and the inputted gravitational acceleration g1 of the location at which the material testing machine (S7).
