<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of more effectively inspecting a metal strip to detect the surface defect thereof. SOLUTION: A means 2 for illuminating the inspection region 3 of a strip 1, at least a pair of cameras 4, 5 taking the image of the same part of the inspection region 3, a calculation apparatus 7 having a means for reconstituting the three-dimensional image of the same part 6 from the image obtained by a pair of the cameras 4, 5 a means for detecting an object exceeding a predetermined threshold value forming unevenness on the surface of the strip 1 on the three-dimensional image, a means for analyzing the image of an object, and a means 10 for showing an analyzed result to an operator, are provided.</p> |
