PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contrast from being lowered without decreasing the availability of light by a simple structure. SOLUTION: A louver sheet 24 is arranged between a backlight 16 and a liquid crystal device 11. This louver sheet 24 is composed of a transparent sheet in which plural plane form louver sheets are internally arranged in parallel, and limits the bearing of the light incident on a liquid crystal device 11 up to ±30 degrees. Therefore, visual angle dependence ability of the shutter degree of light with liquid crystal 15 disappears, and no light transmits the liquid crystal 15 when the light is shaded with the liquid crystal 15. As a result, the contrast is enhanced. |
