PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery charger which can surely and understandably display a utility state of the charger, a setting state of the battery and a takeout able state with low costs. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a storage room 6 for setting a battery B of a specified size and shape at a specified charge position and charging it, a lock mechanism 10 for locking the battery B when it is set at the charge position, a lock release mechanism 11 for releasing the lock by the lock mechanism 10, a display window 34, and a display material 33 which has a battery set display part 36 and a battery takeout able display part 37 for displaying that the battery B is set at the charge position and can be taken out, is linked with operation of the lock mechanism 10 and the lock release mechanism 11 respectively, and switch displays the battery set display part 36 and the battery takeout able display part 37 through the display window 34.
