PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector capable of selecting a fitting and connecting type of a zero-inserting force type, or a normal small-inserting force type. SOLUTION: An electric connector 10 is composed of a pair of connectors 20, 71. Contacts 30 of a connector 20 are disposed in grooves 26 formed along a side surface of its protuberant part 23, and the grooves 26 are disposed on the edge side of the protuberant part 23. Contacts 80 of the connector 71 comprises flexible arms 83 and contacting tabs 84 protruded inside in the vicinity of its edge. The contacts 30, and the contacts 80 are fitted to the connector 71 by moving a pair of the connectors 20 along a fitting direction A, and furthermore the tabs 84 are received in the contacts 30 from the side surface side of the protrubent part 23, by driving an actuator 50 disposed in the connector 71.
