PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mounts the loading/unloading mechanism of the head on a carriage of even a small-sized magnetooptic disk drive. SOLUTION: A head part 20 is normally lifted up by the spring force of a load spring 42. A carriage 10, however, moves in the arrow direction, and the load spring 42 collides against a stopper member 50 to deform elastically. A solenoid 45 fixed to the load spring 42 comes into contact with a yoke 46 in parallel, and when the solenoid 45 is energized in this timing, the deformation state of the load spring 42 is maintained. Energization to the solenoid 45 is stopped at unload time. Thus, the load spring 42 springs up by its own spring force to unload the head part 20.
