PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the sweep light frequency generator of a side sweep light frequency width, capable of providing respective light pulses in an output light pulse string with a single light frequency component and outputting a light pulse waveform without distortion. SOLUTION: Light pulse signals generated by a reference frequency light source 1 and an optical switch 2 are inputted through a light frequency shifter 30 to a light circulation circuit 3, a light frequency is shifted at each circulation of the light circulation circuit 3 and thus, a pulse string 37a whose light frequency changes is outputted stepwise. Then, dummy light for suppressing the waveform distortion of the light pulse string 37a generated in a light amplifier 34 is generated by a dummy light generation circuit 6, and the dummy light is inputted through an optical multiplexer 35 to the light amplifier 34 in a direction opposite to the circulation direction of the light pulse signals in the light circulation circuit and removed by an optical isolator 340. |
