PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the peak power consumption of an image forming device by allowing a fixing means to restrain the power consumption of a heater when an original scanning body is on its return stroke. SOLUTION: A printer part 3 performs image exposure on a photoreceptor drum 7 based on an image signal transmitted from a reader controller 6, so that an electrostatic latent image is formed. The electrostatic latent image is made visualizable with toner by a developing unit 8, and then primarily transferred to an intermediate transfer drum 9. The toner image is transferred to recording material by a secondary transfer part 10, and the recording material where the toner image is put is carried to a fixing device 4 from a transfer belt 11, and the toner image is fixed on the recording material by the action of heat and pressuring force. At such a time, the controller 6 transmits an interruption signal to the printer part 3 in synchronization with back scanning operation performed to return to an initial position in original scanning by a light source 2. The printer part 3 changes the temperature control method for the fixing device 4 based on the transmitted interruption signal. |
