PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer for piling up recording medium disks with which electrification occurring between a disk substrate and the spacer is prevented and unevenness in coating due to dust is not generated during the formation of a protective film. SOLUTION: In the spacer 6 for piling up the recording medium disks inserted into the spaces between respective adjacent disks which are formed by piling up plural recording medium disks 1, an inorganic conductive imparting agent is mixed in such quantity to obtain a prescribed surface electrical resistance or below into a material constituting the spacer, and the material is molded. Then, this prescribed surface electrical resistance is set to be 1×1014Ω/square. Thus, the surface electrical resistance of the spacer 6 is lowered, thereby preventing electrification between the disk substrate and the spacer 6 and preventing the spacer from being stuck to the disk substrate, thus allowing the disk production process to be smoothly executed.
