PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise generated by rotation of a pulse motor. SOLUTION: Action of this paper feeder of a recorder is explained. When the number of pulses corresponding to a desired feeding amount of recording paper P is inputted to a pulse motor 3, rotation of the pulse motor 3 is transferred to a rotary rod 4 via a gear 7a, and intermediate gears 7b, 7c. The rotary rod 4 rotates in the arrow B direction. Paper feeding gears 5, 5 fixed to the rotary rod 4 engage with guide holes G of the recording paper P, which is sent out in the arrow C direction. When a rotor shaft 3a of the pulse motor 3 rotates, the rotor shaft 3a is apt to axially tremble at a proper resonance frequency. A wheel 8 having a form of rotation symmetry is fixed to the end portion of the rotor shaft 3a, so that the rotor shaft 3a stably rotates by the effect of moment of inertia of the wheel which is generated by rotation of the rotor shaft 3a, and the axial tremble of the rotor shaft 3a is restrained. Thereby noise generated from the engaging part of the gears 7a and 7b, and the engaging part of gears 7c and 7d which is caused by the axial tremble of the rotor shaft 3a is reduced.
