PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of obtaining bright display even at a dark place without causing any display deviation due to parallax. SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device, a gate electrode 11, a gate insulating film 12, the active layer 14 provided with a source 14s and a drain 14d, an interlayer insulating film 15 and a flattened insulating film 17 are laminated in this order on an insulative substrate 10, and the display electrode 18 connected to the source 14s is provided on the flattened film 17. Since the electrode 18 consists of a translucent film, the display is enabled by reflecting a natural light 40 from the outside on the electrode when its neighborhood is bright, and is enabled by light rays transmitted through the electrode 18 by lighting a back side light source 41 when it is dark. Moreover, TN(twisted nematic) liquid crystal of a double refraction control mode is used as liquid crystal material 32. |
