PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line pressure control system for automatic transmissions that effects the control of ensuring a necessary quantity of lubricating oil at high vehicle speed. SOLUTION: This line pressure control system comprises a determination means for determining whether the vehicle speed is not less than a preset speed, and a line pressure control means that controls the line pressure on the basis of the decision results of the determination means and has a means for setting or boosting up the line pressure to a preset pressure when the vehicle speed is found not less than the preset speed. At high vehicle speed where the vehicle speed is not less than the preset speed, the line pressure is boosted up to the preset pressure, and if not, the main line pressure boost control is suspended in consideration of fuel economy, with the result that a necessary quantity of lubricating oil is ensured at high vehicle speed. |
