PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular jack which will not be damaged, even if relatively large force acts on a lever in connecting an electric wire to a terminal. SOLUTION: A housing is provided with a plug connecting table 1 having a plug inserting port to be detachably inserted with a modular plug. Terminals 42 composed of pressure terminals are electrically connected to contacts to be connected to the modular plug. A bearing part 33a is provided on the housing 10, a rotary shaft 50 provided on a lever 5 is fitted to the bearing part 33a, and the lever 5 is pivotally supported on the housing 10. Movement regulating pieces 56 are projectingly provided on one surface of the lever 5 to be face to the housing 10 when the lever 5 is turned, and the moving amount of the lever 5 is regulated by the contact of the movement regulating pieces 56 to table parts 38 provided on the housing 10.
