摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate the degradation in the magnetic field generated by a core composed of soft magnetic ferrite having specific magnetic permeability and resonance frequency even at a high frequency by specifying the relation between the magnetic pole height of the core and the average of its cross-sectional area. SOLUTION: This magneto-optical recording medium is provided with the core having perpendicular columnar magnetic poles and the coil on the circumference of the magnetic poles. The core is composed of the soft magnetic ferrite of >=5 to <=700 in the real number part &mu;1' of the specific magnetic permeability at a frequency 100 kHz and >=2.1 MHz in resonance frequency fr. When the height of the magnetic poles of the core is defined as H, the average of the cross-sectional area as S, H/&radic;S=&alpha;, &alpha;<=3 is set. The core of the magnetic head is composed by the ferrite having the characteristic of the adequate specific magnetic permeability and the size of its magnetic poles is made adequate. The high-frequency loss of the core which is the cause for heat generation of the magnetic head is lessened and the generation of the magnetic field of the sufficient intensity to obviate the hindrance in the recording of information signals is made possible.
