PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device by which a stereoscopic image is excellently observed even if an observer's position changes when the stereoscopic image is observed from plural parallax images displayed on a display. SOLUTION: Relating to a stereoscopic image display device provided with a display part 110 using an optical barrier forming a mask pattern, having a discrete pixel structure transmitting a patterned luminous flux through an optical system, lighting a screen displaying a synthesized parallactic image by using scanning lines, and permitting the image information displayed on said screen to be stereoscopically observed, and provided with a viewpoint position detecting mechanism for detecting positional information of the observer, said synthesized parallactic image is synthesized from original parallactic images of m=3 or more adopted as an integer, and the contents of said synthesized parallactic are varied according to the viewpoint positional information outputted from said viewpoint position detecting mechanism according to the viewpoint positions of the observer. |
