摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with different motion detecting parts and to simplify the constitution of a coding device by dividing a block into plural sub-blocks, to estimate the motion compensation MC in every sub-block and then to estimate a field based on the estimated MC. SOLUTION: Reference block data S1 of (16×16) pixels are divided into (16-pixel×8-line) upper and lower pieces and are fetched into memories A2 and B3 respectively. Then the search window SW data S9 are fetched into memories C7 and D8. The vector detecting circuit A12 and B13 estimate the motions, based on the reference block data S7 and S17 given from the memory A2 and the SW data S18 and S19 given from the memory C7 to calculate motion vectors and also evaluation value S20 and S21 respectively. The (16×8) MC estimating circuits A14 and B15 calculate the optimum vectors S28 and S30 and the evaluation value S29 and S31 from the value S20 and S21 respectively. Then a field estimating circuit 16 sends the combined S32 and S33 to an optimum estimation selecting circuit 17, together with S28 to S31 to obtain an optimum vector S34 and the evaluation value S35.</p>
