PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FM receiver capable of obtaining satisfactory sense of listening, even when receiving multipath radio waves or the like when the modulation degree of sound signals is low. SOLUTION: A modulation degree detector 16 detects the modulation degree from the output signals of an FM detector 14, and an electric field strength detector 18 detects the electric field strength of reception signals. An electric field strength conversion circuit 20 changes the amount of signals outputted from the electric field strength detector 18 corresponding to the output signals of the modulation degree detector 16, and a separation amount control circuit 24 controls the separation amount of a stereo demodulator 17, corresponding to the output signals of the electric field strength conversion circuit 20. Thus, the separation amount is controlled corresponding to the modulation degree of the reception signals.
