PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to cut out a specific subject precisely and easily from within a picture. SOLUTION: This device has a means 501 for setting a closed initial outline of an arbitrary shape, a means 507 for setting a specific reference point on the basis of the initial outline, a means 508 for setting plural belt-like areas of a specified shape including a line segment connecting the specified point on the initial outline and the reference point, a means 502 for splitting each belt-like area into plural areas on the basis of picture data in the plural belt-like areas, a means for 503 for updating the outline on the basis of each split point position after area split, and a means 504 for obtaining an outline shape of a specific picture area to be extracted on the basis of the outline after update. It is possible to almost automatically obtain the outline of an extraction object after setting and to surely obtain a correct outline of the extraction object only by roughly setting the initial outline in a way in which the extraction object is surrounded. |
