PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the increase in build-up time and image failure while ensuring the effect by suppressing the initial idling time to the necessary minimum. SOLUTION: The initial idling time of a developing device is changed according to the thermistor output temperature or according to whether the developing device is in left state or in general state. Concretely, when the thermistor output temperature is 70 deg.C or lower (S2), the control is terminated after a black developing device is initially idled for 60 seconds (S3) and a color developing device is idled for 6 seconds (S4). When the body state is in power supply ON (S5), the black developing device is initially idled for 12 seconds (S6), and the procedure is advanced to S4. When the body being reset in S5, no replacement of developing device is present (S7), the control is terminated as it is. When the change of developing device is into color (S8), the changed color developing device is initially idled for 6 second, and the control is terminated. When changed into black in S8, the black developing device is initially idled for 12 seconds, and the control is terminated. |
