PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a transmitter by transmitting a specific identification code of the transmitter for sound guide installed in an area for a prescribed time only when all visitors in the receptible area desire to hear the guide information in this sound guide system. SOLUTION: The sound guide system consists of a sound guide reproduction device having a transmission section 208 to send a code for transmission request and a sound guide transmitter having a reception section 202 receiving the code sent from the sound guide reproduction device, and the sound guide transmitter is provided with a control means 205 that controls the sound guide transmitter so as to send a specific identification code of the transmitter only for a preset time when the received code is identified as a code requesting transmission.
