PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hearing aid with high articulation, less in fatigue by use for a long time that conveys even an atmosphere in concert hall and to provide the setting method for its frequency characteristic. SOLUTION: A received sound signal is converted into a digital sound signal, which is fed to a digital signal processor 13 that corrects an amplitude frequency characteristic and a phase frequency characteristic, where the corrected digital sound signal is converted into an analog sound signal, and given to an electroacoustic transducer 16, in which the signal is converted into acoustic energy. The digital signal processor 13 measures an amplitude frequency characteristic H(ω) of an audible organ of the user of the hearing aid and obtains an inverse characteristic 1/H (ω) of the measured amplitude frequency characteristic through arithmetic operation and a phase characteristic X (jω) of the inverse characteristic is optimized to maximize the articulation. Thus, high articulation is obtained and fatigue due to the use for a long time is less and the atmosphere in a concert hall is delivered by this hearing aid.
