PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing separated magnetic head capable of assuring interlayer insulation in spite of reduction in the spacing between the layers of thin-film coils and shortening the magnetic paths consisting of an upper magnetic core and a lower magnetic core. SOLUTION: This recording and reproducing separated magnetic head has the induction type head which is formed with at least two layers of the multilayered thin-film coils 25, 26 substantially rectangular in cross section on the lower magnetic core 15 and is formed with the upper magnetic core 16 thereon and in which the thin-film conductor base surfaces of the coils exclusive of at least the lowermost layers of the thin-film coils 25, 26 convex downward and the thin-film conductors of the thin-film coils 25, 26 of the layers immediate below the same convex upward on their front surfaces.
