PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect chemical species with a high sensitivity by providing an on-column type conductivity electrode having a leading end part which extends to a column channel penetrating a side face part of a small-diameter cylindrical column and terminates in the same plane at a column inner wall, and an effective electrokinetic potential-impressing means passing a separation zone along the column channel. SOLUTION: A silica glass capillary tube is filled with a conductive liquid. When a potential is impressed to electrodes at both end parts of the capillary tube, a cation chemical species 18 is attracted to a cathode 16 and an anion chemical species 19 is turned back by the cathode 16. Since a velocity of the liquid is higher than an electrophoretic velocity of the chemical species 18, 19, all chemical species move at different velocities and measured between electrodes 21 and 22 when passing a detector consisting of the electrodes 21, 22. A conduction characteristic having a background depending on a difference to a sample is accordingly changed. The electrodes 21, 22 are on-column type. An inner diameter of a microcolumn is smaller than 500 μm, and the microcolumn is formed of an inactive metal, e.g. platinum or the like. |
