PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible for a patient to press a calling switch without hesitating by actualizing a nurse call system which does not need to respond by a voice immediately after there is a calling. SOLUTION: A nurse call system is provided with a nurse station board 110 which is provided in a nurse station and is equipped with a display means for displaying a call state, a nurse call system master machine 111 having a microphone and a speaker for contacting a patient, hand slave machines 103 and 105 which are provided in each hospital room and have emergency/ nonurgent switching switchs, and a communication means 300 which can contact by way of these nurse call system master machines and hand slave machines. In the case of nonurgent calling, a call state display means is made to display that the call is nonurgent, consequently the patient need not hesitate to press the calling switch.
