PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for vehicle which can plainly display the front picture of a vehicle without giving any trouble to the driver of the vehicle when the driver requires the picture. SOLUTION: A display device is provided with an infrared noctovision camera 1 which takes the front picture of a vehicle and outputs picture data, a picture extracting means 4 which extracts human beings based on the picture data from the camera 1, a picture position calculating means which calculates the positional coordinates of the human beings extracted by means of the extracting means 4 in the picture, and a mark sticking means which outputs marks indicating the presence of the human beings at the coordinates calculated by means of the calculating means by correlating the coordinates to the marks, a line-of- sight direction detecting means 9 which detects that the line of sight of the driver is directed to the front side of the vehicle, and a display 11. The display 11 brightly displays the marks when detecting signals are outputted from the detecting means 9 or darkly displays the marks when no detecting signal is supplied from the detecting means 9.
