<p>The present invention relates to a short oligonucleotide or a derivative thereof which has a sequence that corresponds to a particular part of a nucleic acid sequence which encodes VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) and which has a length of maximum 15 nucleotides, the invention further relates to a method of making the oligonucleotide and the use thereof.
